Las Cruces teens rob gun store

The Las Cruces Police Department and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents arrested three teenagers believed to be involved in this week's theft of 30 firearms from a local gun shop.

According to police, at 4 a.m. on June 23, 2024, three boys broke into Miller Guns and Ammo at 518 North Telshor Boulevard. Police later discovered they arrived in a stolen Kia Forte.

According to police, 30 firearms, ammunition and accessories worth more than $30,000 were stolen.

Police were dispatched to a report of an individual with a gun on the 2300 block of Columbia Avenue, where officers located two boys, ages 12 and 15, and recovered two stolen firearms. Police recovered 14 stolen firearms and accessories after receiving consent to search the 15-year-old boy's residence.

The third teen, a 15-year-old boy, was arrested on Monday. The three boys are charged with aggravated burglary, breaking and entering and larceny of more than $20,000. One of the 15-year-olds is also charged with possession of a stolen vehicle.

Because of their ages, police did not release the names of the three suspects.

According to police, additional handguns and rifles that were reported stolen have been recovered, but police and ATF are continuing the investigation and encourage anyone with information on additional firearms and accessories to call police at 575-526-0795.
