Law enforcement investigating crash on Kansas Turnpike north of Emporia

Update 9:51 p.m. – A Trooper with the Kansas Highway Patrol confirms to 27 News two people are dead and two others are injured from the crash on I-335 Saturday. One person is suffering life-threatening injuries.

Update: 7:18 p.m. – The Emporia Fire Department says one person has died from a crash on the Kansas Turnpike north of Emporia. The fire department says five others were transported to a nearby hospital. One person has life-threatening injuries. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating.

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Law enforcement is investigating a crash that has shut down the southbound lanes of Interstate 335 north of Emporia.

According to KanDrive, the crash happened before 4 p.m. Saturday. Traffic is being diverted from the Admire exit to U.S. 56 Highway.

The Kansas Highway Patrol tells 27 News multiple vehicles were involved. This is a developing story, and 27 News will keep you updated.
