Lebanon Driver Services Center to close for 6 months

Jul. 13—The Lebanon Driver Services Center is closing Monday for renovations and won't reopen until 2025.

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced the temporary closer of its Lebanon Driver Services Center at 204 Maddox Simpson Parkway on Monday. According to the department, the renovations will entail new flooring, fresh paint, a parking lot expansion and a building expansion.

The center is expected to reopen in January 2025.

In the meantime, residents can visit nearby driver service centers such as the Gallatin Driver Services Center, the Murfreesboro Driver Services Center and the Murfreesboro Express Driver Services Center.

Nearby self-service kiosks can be found at the Mt. Juliet Police Department, the Smith County Clerk's Office and the Sumner County Clerk's Office. Self-service kiosks allow citizens to renew an enhanced handgun carry permit, order a duplicate of an existing enhanced, lifetime or concealed carry permit, upgrade to a lifetime handgun carry permit, pay full reinstatement fee, reissue driving privilege after reinstating, or add emergency contacts.

A citizen can also update, replace or renew their regular driver's license or advance a graduated driver's license at a self-service kiosk.

Citizens can also visit the Wilson County Clerk's Office, which released information regarding services it can provide on social media.

"Please note that we can only assist Wilson County residents with existing Class D driver licenses," the Wilson County Clerk's Office said Tuesday. "We will not be able to accommodate out-of-state transfers or conduct any testing. For those services, you will need to visit a nearby Driver Service Center. Please also utilize online services for things like renewals, duplicates and address changes at tn.gov/safety."

Citizens can also utilize online services at tn.gov/safety/driver-services/online.html during the renovation. Teenagers ages 15-17 can also take the knowledge portion of their driving test online with a parent or guardian's supervision via the Tennessee Proctor Identification (PID) app.
