Letters: Andy Beshear for president? Some Kentuckians say yes.

Gov. Andy Beshear has sparked a lot of attention lately as the possible contender for the presidency. The Courier Journal asked readers what they thought of Gov. Beshear running for president. Below are some of those answers.

Andy Beshear is the ideal candidate for president

Andy Beshear has talent and knowledge in politics as well as popularity in and out of State of Kentucky.I believe that he knows what he wants to achieve, and thinks that is what is the best for the whole country.I do congratulate him in advance if he submits his candidacy for the president of the United States of America.

Republican voter for Beshear

I am a registered republican citizen of Kentucky who is torn by the choices we have at this time.

I would rally behind Governor Beshear, as I agree with your article he is seen as a moderate who has demonstrated his abilities to accomplish difficult political agendas with his effective strategies. After Kentucky suffered under former Governor Matt Bevin, we are now a triving economy, plenty of job ready citizens, and a vibrant education system. Kentucky is growing rapidly and the future looks bright. I credit Governor Beshear with our results! I urge Democrats to nominate him!

Best president in 100 years

I believe Governor Beshear would be the best president the USA has seen in 100 years. I watched him during the pandemic and saw his strength, his compassion and how he worked literally everyday to make sure the people knew what was going on. He had some hard choices in that time and he handled them with a will for us all to survive. I don't believe in my 52 years have I seen such a person to put it all for everyone to see and make sure we all could lean on his strength and leader ship.

Now is not the time for Beshear to run for president

I agree that Andy is a good prospect for president and I agree with all said, except now is not the time. The time will be in 2028 when the selection of the next candidate is more than just the press' attempt to get ratings and readers. The people have selected their candidate, now is the time for us to rally behind the honest, caring old candidate, not the lying, dishonest, self-interested old candidate.
