The executive director says this grant allows them to focus on storytelling, youth development and workshops.

“The museum has been looking for ways to evolve as we’re making our transition into a new space, and so this particular grant and storytelling allows us to connect the past and the present as we move forward into the future,” said Kansas African American Museum Executive Director Denise Sherman.

Other organizations that received grant money are the Urban League of Kansas and Community Operations Recovery Empowerment.
