Local pastor disappointed after AC units were stolen from church

MOORE, Okla. (KFOR) — A pastor is at a loss for words after coming to his church last week and learning someone stole the church’s AC units.

Now they are having to come up with thousands of dollars to buy new ones.

“The thing that really kills me is, I don’t understand why they would take them from a church,” said Lewis Poole, Pastor at Life Tabernacle Church.

Pastor Poole received a call Saturday from the lawn care company that takes care of the church, noticing something suspicious.

“He called me and sent me a picture of this thing out in the back and he said, “have you trashed these air conditioners, or did somebody take that,” I said if they’re not back there, somebody had to take them,” Pastor Poole said.

Poole says this is the first time something like this has happened in the nearly 25 years they have been there.

“I have never run into an issue like this, we’ve been here since 1995,” Pastor Poole said.

Now they’re forced to bring fans into the church to make the heat manageable, while they figure out how to cover the cost of a new AC unit.

“It’s going to run between $20,000 and $25,000 to replace the furnaces and the air conditioners,” Pastor Poole said.

“It’s not exactly the coolest you’ve ever been, but we’ve got the fans running here trying to pull that up,” said Pastor Poole.

Pastor Poole filed a police report, but there isn’t much information to go off of in regard to the suspects.

The Moore Police Department asks that if anyone has any information, to give them a call.
