Loop 202 eastbound off-ramp at McClintock Drive reopens after brush fire

A brush fire impacted Loop 202 eastbound on Sunday afternoon, temporarily closing down the freeway's off-ramp at McClintock Drive in Tempe, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The ramp was reopened an hour and a half later.

ADOT advised drivers to use caution in the area.

The off-ramp was first closed at 2:43 p.m. on Sunday.

Early images from the scene showed plumes of smoke ascending from the north shore of Tempe Town Lake.

By 4:00 p.m., there was no longer smoke in the area, and it did not appear to be causing additional delays, according to ADOT's communications office.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, by calling 511 and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT.
