Loved Ones Remember 4 Cousins as 'Beautiful Souls' After They Were Allegedly Killed by Pair's Father

The Alabama man accused of killing his wife, his two children and two other kids entered a plea of not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.

Brandon Kendrick, 32, is accused of killing his wife, Kelsey Kendrick, 24, as well as four children in a home in Bibb County, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a press release.

The children were identified in a GoFundMe as Kaleb, 6, and Kynli Kendrick, 2, and their cousins Colton, 8, and Haley Daniels, 6.

Brandon Kendrick’s plea was reported by WIAT, WBRC and WVTM.

Kendrick is charged with five counts of capital murder. He is being held without bond, WIAT reported and will have a preliminary hearing on Sept. 26.

According to the GoFundMe, which has raised over $20,000, the family had just celebrated an early birthday party for Colton, who was about to turn 9.

“During this incredibly difficult time, we ask for your prayers for peace and comfort,” the organizer wrote. “Any contributions to help cover the five funeral expenses for these beautiful souls would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support and kindness while we move forward with options for arrangements.”
