Election Day isn't observed as a federal holiday, so post offices will be open and mail will be delivered.

But whatever you do, do not put an absentee ballot in the mail Tuesday. There's is absolutely no way it gets delivered in time and counted. It should have been mailed by Oct. 29, according the the United States Postal Service. The Michigan Secretary of State office recommended even earlier — Oct. 22.
You can still return your absentee ballot via drop box or feed it into the tabulator at your assigned polling place.
So, hit the post office if needed and check your mail Election Day. It could be your last chance to enjoy all those election mailers for awhile.
