An area of low pressure with a counterclockwise flow near Central Florida is going to turn into high pressure and will result in major to extreme heat in the area on Sunday, Spectrum News 13 meteorologist Zach Covey said.

High temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s, Covey said. The heat index is 110.

A few storms are forecast for later in the day, Covey said.

The high today will be 95 degrees and the low will be 77 degrees.
