Man, 37, fatally shot during fight at Queens house party

A 37-year-old Queens man was fatally shot when a fight broke out at a Queens house party early Thursday, police said.

A clash broke out between two guests at the bash on Montauk St. near 119th Road in St. Albans about 5 a.m., cops said.

One of the partygoers pulled a gun and opened fire, hitting Travanti Rankine in the right side of his stomach, cops said. Cops have not yet determined if Rankine was involved in the fight or just a bystander.

Medics rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he died. He lived in Jamaica, Queens, according to cops.

The gunman ran off and has not been caught.

Cops on Thursday were scouring the area looking for surveillance footage that could help them identify the shooter.
