Man accused of attacking brother with wrench

Oct. 13—A 29-year-old man was arrested last week after his younger brother accused him of striking him in the forehead with a wrench-style tool.

According to an Ector County Sheriff's Department report, dispatchers received a 911 disturbance call from the 13000 block of West 42nd Street around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday.

When deputies arrived a 27-year-old man said that he'd gotten an argument with David Rey Ramirez and as they were rolling around in the driveway, Ramirez grabbed the tool and swung into forehead, the report stated.

The man was still bleeding from an inch and a half cut, but he declined medical attention, the report stated.

Although the brother said he didn't want to pursue charges, Ramirez was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/family violence, a second-degree felony, the report stated.

Ramirez remained in the Ector County jail as of Sunday on a $30,000 surety bond.
