Man accused of holding man at gunpoint, stealing over $40k in jewelry

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing multiple charges after police say he held a man at gunpoint and robbed him of over $40,000 worth of jewelry.

Taylor Bell, 21, has been charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, theft of property $10,000-$60,000, aggravated assault and acting in concert to wit aggravated assault for an incident that took place in June.

On June 26, a victim was robbed at gunpoint by three men as he entered his home.

The victim recognized one of the suspects as Taylor Bell. He’d told officers that Bell went to school with his son and had visited his home on several occasions.

Bell allegedly placed the victim in a chokehold while pointing a handgun at his head. He then forced him into his home.

Bell allegedly threatened to kill the victim if he didn’t give him his jewelry.

The victim said that a diamond Cartier watch (valued at $24,000), a designer ring (valued at $6,000) and a diamond necklace (valued at $15,000) were taken from his home.

He said that the suspects also stole $1,375 in cash, the keys to his three vehicles and the keys to his home.

After the robbery took place, the victim said he ran behind the suspects before one of them turned around and fired two shots at him.

The victim was able to positively identify Bell in a six-person photographic display as the person that he knows as “Twin.”

Bell was arrested on Friday and is being held on $375,000 bond.
