New Hampshire man faces murder charge after allegedly killing his grandmother with a hammer
A 23-year-old man is being held without bail in Littleton, New Hampshire, after being arrested for allegedly killing his grandmother.
Joshua Lanchester faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Cynthia Lanchester, 76, who was found dead at her home in Easton shortly after 11:30 a.m. Saturday. An autopsy has determined that Cynthia Lanchester died of blunt force trauma to the head. Joshua Lanchester is accused of killing her with a hammer.
Investigators with the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office say they responded shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday to a home on North Peak Drive. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, police said.
Joshua Lanchester’s arraignment is expected Monday in the 2nd Circuit Court in Littleton.
