Man assaults shopper with machete at Lowe’s: BPD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Police are asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect who allegedly assaulted a person with a machete at Lowes in south Bakersfield.

BPD released photos and a description of the suspect Monday morning. According to the department, the assault happened on July 3, around 2:10 p.m. at the Lowes located at 6200 Colony Street.

The suspect is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly used a machete during the altercation. The victim, however was not critically injured.

Police describe the suspect as standing five feet, eight inches with a heavy build and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a graphic print on the front and sleeves.
