Man banned from Ohio University, arrested after social media posts
ATHENS, Ohio (WCMH) — Police arrested a Pickerington man Tuesday and banned him from Ohio University after concerning social media posts.
Michael Rinthalukay, 27, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with having weapons under disability by the Athens Police Department. Thursday, the Ohio University Police Department also announced he has been banned from all Ohio University campuses.
OUPD said community members reported concerning posts from Rinthalukay, which he posted under the username “Mike Rinks.” Police said they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the community, after a thorough investigation into the matter.
