Man on bicycle killed on Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem police say

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man has been hit and killed in a crash on a busy Triad road.

According to Winston-Salem police, just after 9 p.m. on Wednesday, they responded to Peters Creek Parkway at Academy Street about a crash. At the scene, they found a car and a bicycle that had been involved in a crash.

Crash involving ambulance reported in High Point

Investigators say that the car was driving south on Peters Creek Parkway at the intersection of Academy Street when the bicyclist, Irving Leal Cisneros, 31, of Winston-Salem, was riding down Academy Street and ran through a red light, where he was then hit by the car. The bike did not have lights or reflectors and Cisneros was not wearing reflective clothing or a helmet.

Cisneros was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the car were treated for minor injuries.
