Tyler police responded to the call in the 900 block of W. First Street around 9 a.m. and got several children and adults out of the house. Among them was Chandler Haught, of Tyler, who was taken to the Smith County Jail on six counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

“It was determined that Haught and the people inside the house are acquaintances, this is not a random incident,” Tyler Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh said. “There was evidence of shots being fired.”

The case is being forwarded to the Smith County District Attorney’s Office and no injuries were reported.
