Man who crashed into Sandwich bank crashes into Falmouth building, police said
The same man who police said crashed into a Sandwich bank on Jan. 13, crashed into a Falmouth building in the early hours of Jan. 15, according to police.
Falmouth police responded to the crash at the Mid-Cape Home Centers at 81 Locust St., around 3 a.m. The woman who called police was in the passenger seat and reported that she had been held against her will for more than three hours, according to police.
After speaking with the Fall River man, police said he appeared to be in a "state of altered mental status."
The 38-year-old man crashed a grey Nissan Rogue into the front doors of the building, according to police. The building inspector determined there was no significant damage to the structure.
The man was arrested on Jan. 15 and arraigned in Falmouth District Court later that day on charges of kidnapping, witness intimidation, negligent operation of a vehicle and destruction of property, according to the court clerk office.
He is currently being held at Bridgewater State Hospital for examination until his court date Feb. 4, according to Falmouth District Court.
Following the man's arraignment for the earlier Sandwich crash, he was released. His next court date for that incident was set as Feb. 19.
