FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Baltimore man was sentenced Wednesday to spend multiple consecutive life sentences for his role in a 2016 triple murder in Franklin County.

Christopher Van Johnson, 36, will serve seven consecutive life sentences along with 10, 20 and 30-year terms on charges of companion robbery, firearms and conspiracy by United States District Judge Christopher Conner, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced.

Three people were found by Pennsylvania State Police after they were zipped-tied, shot execution-style, and then set on fire inside a barn along Welsh Run Road in Mercersburg in June 2016. Two of the victims were found dead but one was rushed to York Hospital where he later died, the release states.

In total, there were 14 other people charged in a case that took seven years for authorities to investigate.

Evidence presented by prosecutors in a previous guilty plea in 2019 showed that the female victim who was aiding federal authorities in the drug trafficking case, was in a relationship with two other co-defendants, the DOJ said.
