Man on personal watercraft dies after crash with 42-foot boat in Intracoastal, FWC says

A 23-year-old man on a personal watercraft was killed in a crash with a 42-foot boat early Sunday morning in the Intracoastal Waterway in northeast Miami-Dade, authorities said.

At about 8:30 a.m, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers responded to a collision between the watercraft and a 42-foot Yellowfin center console, half a mile south of the Broad Causeway in Bay Harbor Islands, the FWC said.

The operator of the watercraft, Zlotnyk Vladyslav, 23, from New York, was transported to shore by four good Samaritans who witnessed the crash from a boat. Despite their efforts to save him, Vladyslav died, according to FWC officials.

The FWC is investigating and will release a full incident report once its investigation is complete.
