Man seriously injured following kebab shop assault

A man has been left with potentially life changing injuries after being punched in the head.

The 50-year-old man was knocked unconscious during the incident outside the Old Town Kebab House in High Street, Swindon, shortly before 19:00 BST on Friday.

Wiltshire Police said he may have been speaking to two men in the kebab shop before one of them assaulted him.

Following the incident, the two suspects were seen cycling in the direction of Marlborough Road, a spokesperson said.

'Particularly concerning'

The two men were described as wearing dark clothing with hoods and appeared to be either older teenagers or in their early 20s.

One of the suspects was described as white and the other black.

Det Sgt Craig Rathbone said: "We urgently need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.

"This was a particularly concerning attack which resulted in serious injury.

"Old Town at that time in the evening was busy and it is likely that there are a number of potential witnesses who have yet to contact us."

Anyone who may have driven past and have dashcam footage or CCTV from the area is asked to contact the police.
