Man shot in leg in Rehoboth bar parking lot; police looking for suspect

A 27-year-old man was shot in the leg in the parking lot of Big Chill Surf Cantina in Rehoboth Beach early Friday morning.

Delaware State Police responded to the 19406 Coastal Highway bar around 12:50 a.m., where they learned several people had been fighting in the parking lot when one of them pulled out a handgun, a news release said. The gunman fired one shot, striking the victim in the leg, before everyone involved fled the area, police said.

The victim was hospitalized but survived, according to police.

An investigation found 28-year-old Jonathan Blackwell of Milford was the shooter, police said. He is wanted on multiple felony offenses not specified by police.
