Man suspected of stealing multiple Fox Valley vehicles arrested after 40 mile pursuit throughout southeast Wisconsin

WAYNE, Wis. (WFRV) – A man who is suspected of stealing multiple vehicles in the Fox Valley was arrested after allegedly stealing a truck and leading deputies on a roughly 40-mile pursuit throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a stolen Ford F150 on Farm Lane in the Town of Wayne around 11 p.m. on Thursday, September 19.

With the help of GPS tracking, the stolen vehicle’s owner directed deputies to State Highway 28, where the suspect had allegedly tried to steal another vehicle.

Coordinated efforts to track the suspect, who was later identified as a 34-year-old man from Manawa, through West Bend and into Slinger. Deputies say that after a roughly 40-mile pursuit through Washington and Dodge Counties, a tire deflation device was successfully deployed.

The pursuit ended at I-41 and County Trunk D, where the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

Deputies later learned that the man was reportedly suspected of stealing multiple vehicles in the Fox Valley area before this incident. He is currently held at the Washington County Jail on a $15,000 cash bond.

Chasing a suspect in a stolen vehicle is incredibly risky, not only for law enforcement but for the public as well. It is also an incredibly careful balance for law enforcement. We owe the public we serve to be as cautious as possible, while also keeping in mind that the community justifiably expects that criminal behavior is held accountable. This individual will now face the legal consequences of this policy.

  • Operating a Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent

  • Fleeing an Officer

  • 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety

  • Two counts of Bail Jumping
