The campaign for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Dave McCormick said Monday he will join GOP presidential nominee, former President Donald Trump, at a rally in Harrisburg on Wednesday. It will be Trump’s first trip back to Pennsylvania since he was injured in a July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, at a rally where McCormick was also present.

McCormick was the final speaker at the rally before Trump took the stage. The shooting left attendee Corey Comperatore dead and two other rallygoers injured. Trump sustained an injury to his ear, and the FBI has confirmed he was struck by a bullet. The gunman was killed at the scene.

Congress is investigating the shooting, and how the gunman was able to get so close to the former president.  U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability on July 22, just one day before she resigned. Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Col. Christopher Paris testified before the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security the same day that Cheatle resigned.

Trump has said on social media that he plans to return to Butler at an event to honor Comperatore, but has not released further details on when that visit will take place.

McCormick is seeking to oust Democratic U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, who is seeking a fourth term. A Fox News poll released July 26 found Casey leads McCormick by 13 points. The same poll found Trump and likely Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, were tied in Pennsylvania, a key swing state with 19 electoral votes.
