MCSO: Teen failed to stop in crash with semi truck

ELY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJMN) — The driver of a tractor trailer was taken to the hospital following a crash on Monday.

According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were called out to the area of US 41 near County Road 478 around 11:25 a.m. on Monday.

Authorities say the teenager was driving north on 478 and failed to stop when pulling onto 41. She crashed into a tractor trailer, driven by a Marquette man. The tractor trailer rolled over. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office provided an update on Tuesday that the teenager was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

The roadway was closed while police were investigating and cleaning up the crash. as of 2:17 p.m., MDOT reported that the road was back open.
