Meet the ‘Leap Year’ babies born around the Gulf Coast

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — It happens once every four years — an extra day has been tacked on to the end of February for what is known as “Leap Day.” Multiple babies were born on Leap Day 2024.

News 5 has compiled a list of babies born on Feb. 29, 2024.

USA Health Providence welcomed its first Leap Year baby early Thursday morning.

At Mobile Infirmary, a baby boy, Azavier Austin, and a baby girl, Leslee Sage Gleason, were born.

And, over in Baldwin County, a Leap Year baby was born just after 7:30 a.m. at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.

Rock & Roll Hall of Famer to perform at the Saenger Theatre Pensacola

A baby was also born at Thomas Hospital on Thursday.
