A missing Gaston County woman was found alive beside the South Fork River with no memory of what happened to her, according to her family.

Kelly Krueger, 38, had been missing since at least July 12 when she was found at 10:30 a.m. Saturday by a man who was collecting his dogs, said Krueger's niece, Jessica Mathews, in a text message. She was last seen leaving the home she shared with her father in Stanley without her phone, keys or wallet. She was reported missing several days after she left.

Krueger was conscious, but "very weak," Mathews said.

"All Kelly remembers is standing on the porch, then waking up in the woods," Mathews added. "She was found with nothing but shorts on."

Krueger was hospitalized and is being treated for dehydration, and the police are investigating what happened to her, Mathews added.

Her family is "relieved and so grateful that she's alive," Mathew said.
