Missing man last seen leaving Northwest Side home

CHICAGO — Authorities are asking for help in the search for a Chicago man who officers say went missing after leaving his home on the Northwest Side last Monday.

Chicago police say 27-year-old Jose Garcia Maestre was last seen leaving his Logan Square home, in the 3600 block of West Dickens Avenue, on Monday, July 8, and has not been contacted since.

According to police, Maestre may be on foot or on public transportation as his vehicle had broken down.

Police say the missing man, who stands 5-foot-7 and weighs around 150 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair.

Officers did not provide a description of what Maestre was last seen wearing.

Authorities notified the public about the man’s disappearance in a news release sent out on Monday.
