Authorities in Georgia say human remains found by a construction crew likely belong to a mother of two who vanished nearly a year ago.

Gabriella Dixon, 18, was last seen in Macon, Ga., on Oct. 30 2023, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said in an announcement at the time.

On Wednesday, July 24, human remains were found in a wooded area in Monroe County, Ga., and authorities say they believe they are those of Dixon, the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The remains, which were discovered by a construction crew, have been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for positive identification, police said.

The sheriff’s office said they charged Jatarvius Deangelo Price with conspiracy to commit murder after the remains were found. Price, 19, was initially arrested in November on charges of making false statements and tampering with evidence, but was released on bond.

It wasn't immediately clear if Price has entered pleas or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.

Authorities have also issued warrants for Reginald Harris on a charge of murder. Dixon’s family says Harris is the father of her children, per 13 WMAZ.
