MoCo Minute: Montgomery County high school students can get head start on college
ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) — As the new school year approaches, some Montgomery County high school students are looking to get a head start on their college careers.
Montgomery College’s dual enrollment and early college programs are making a significant impact on its students.
“Our Early College Program students will start college full-time in their junior and senior years, taking regular courses on campus,” Akima Rogers, director of Academic Initiatives at Montgomery College, said.

The Middle College Programs balance high school and college coursework, while the Jumpstart to College Program offers flexibility.
“Students may take one to four courses, earning credits that can transfer to Montgomery College or other institutions,” Rogers said.
With over 2,000 students already benefiting, these programs provide access and opportunity, helping students view college as a viable option and paving the way for future success.
