Montgomery police officer charged with harassment

A Montgomery police officer has been relieved of duty after being charged with harassment, a Montgomery Police Department spokesperson said.

The department has started disciplinary proceedings against Cephus Dixon, a 43-year-old Patrol Division officer who has been with MPD for 10 years, said MPD Maj. Saba Coleman. Dixon was placed on administrative duties July 16 after the department learned of the charges, Coleman said.

MPD did not provide further details about the nature of the charges, disciplinary action or other aspects of the case.
