More rain and heat for New Mexico

Showers and storms once again moved in across New Mexico today. A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for areas in and around the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon burn scar. As we head through the later evening hours, showers and storms will continue to move across the northern and western parts of the state. Some of these storms could become severe with strong damaging winds and small hail being the largest hazards.

Come Sunday the rain will likely be constrained to the mountains. The heavier rainfall on Saturday will bring an increased risk for burn scar flooding. Particularly along the Cerro Pelado Burn Scar. Risk for burn scar flooding will decrease on Sunday, but not go away entirely.
