More showers and flooding concerns for parts of New Mexico

Storms have returned for more areas in New Mexico this afternoon. Flash Flood Warnings along with Severe Thunderstorm Warnings have been issued for areas across eastern New Mexico. Strong storms have and will continue to drop localized heavy rainfall across parts of the state which will continue to increase the flooding risk as we head into the weekend.

Showers and storms will build into the eastern and southern parts of the state tomorrow with some potentially severe storms as well. Hail, damaging winds and flash flooding will be the largest concerns from these storms.

Quieter weather will be in place for most on Sunday with a few spot showers expected across southeast New Mexico before a back door cold front moves through Sunday night. This will bring in more moisture for eastern New Mexico and slowly make its way westward through the upcoming workweek.
