Most blogged artists: Purity Ring releases new tune on Twitter

New York electro-pop duo Purity Ring climbs up in The Hype Machine’s top ten with the release of a new track from upcoming full-length Shrines, due out in late July. A newcomer to the most blogged artists chart this week is British indie pop artist Kindness, aka Adam Bainbridge.

Purity Ring just dropped new track “Obedear” on Twitter, which “found bloggers falling over themselves to get the song up on the web,” writes blogger Breaking More Waves. “The rabid pace of which the new track was hyped can indeed be justified,” raves blogger Hearing Gold, adding that the track is “at once hypnotic, dark, and exciting.”

"With an obvious love for quality funk and soul" (Phuturelabs), Kindness has also caused a stir in the music blogosphere with the recent release of his full-length debut, World, You Need a Change of Mind, set for a US release on May 8. Meanwhile bloggers are circulating a few singles from that album, in addition to a cover of The Replacements’ "Swinging Party" that he released back in 2009.
