Motorcyclist killed in crash on I-81 in Botetourt County
BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)– Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle on I-81 in Botetourt County on Sunday, June 23.
According to VSP, a 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle containing a passenger and driver was driving northbound on I-81 near mile marker 163 when it attempted to drive along the centerline in between two vehicles. State police say it lost control and struck a 2020 Ram Promaster 3500, causing the vehicle to overturn.
The driver of the Harley Davidson, identified as 25-year-old Nicholas C. Jennings of Moneta, died at the scene. VSP reports the passenger on the motorcycle also sustained serious injuries.

Both occupants on the motorcycle were wearing helmets.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
This crash remains under investigation. WFXR News will update this story as further information is released.
