Motorcyclist killed in crash in south Sarasota

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in south Sarasota late Friday.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the motorcyclist was traveling at a high speed on U.S 41 near the Landings Boulevard intersection around 11:30 p.m.

Troopers said another driver turned left toward Landings Boulevard and hit the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist was thrown off his bike and died at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
