How much did it rain in Milwaukee on July 4th? How much will it rain this weekend?

Rain fell briefly on Summerfest Thursday and disrupted afternoon Fourth of July celebrations in the Milwaukee area.

Thankfully, the rain subsided in time for Milwaukee fireworks shows. However, fireworks in the north-central part of the state, including in Wausau and Antigo, were rescheduled due to the weather.

Will it rain more in Milwaukee this weekend?

Showers and storms are expected to move southeast across Wisconsin Friday, according to NWS projections. Precipitation is possible throughout the day in Milwaukee, with the greatest chances between 2 and 8 p.m. Peak precipitation chances of 61% are in the forecast for 5 p.m. Thunderstorms are possible after 5 p.m. and could continue until about 10 or 11 p.m. NWS says a tenth to a quarter of an inch of rain is likely today, with higher amounts expected if there are thunderstorms.

Friday night and Saturday should be relatively dry for Milwaukee, with a high temperature of 74 degrees on Saturday.

Rain is possible throughout the day on Sunday, with a higher chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Afternoon and evening precipitation chances are between 34% and 36%.
