Murder-suicide suspected after two people found dead inside senior facility home

SANTEE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) — Authorities on Tuesday determined the two elderly adults found dead inside their home at a senior living facility in Santee over the weekend was a result of a murder-suicide.

David Soulner, 82, and his wife, Claire Soulner, 79, were identified as the deceased, Lt. Michael Krugh with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.

Authorities received a call on Sunday around 11:25 a.m. about two dead elderly adults inside their home in the 300 block of Lantern Crest Way.

The autopsy reports revealed the manner of death for both was a gunshot wound.

Investigators believe David Soulner allegedly shot and killed Claire and then turned the gun on himself, according to authorities.
