Nap in car leads to 24 stolen rifles, 4 chainsaws and a stash of meth, MS Coast police say

Biloxi Police arrested three Mississippi Coast suspects after a probable cause search of a woman sleeping in a car led authorities to a stash of rifles, drugs and chainsaws, the department said in a news release on Monday.

Police charged Kristina Willyard, 45, of Gulfport, Dustin Compton, 35, of Long Beach and Clayton Hardee, 37, of Biloxi. Each face one count of trafficking stolen firearms and possession of a weapon after felony conviction. Police also charged Hardee with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Police found Willyard on Saturday asleep in a car in the 1900 block of Beach Boulevard, the release said. Police said Willyard, a convicted felon, had a gun. The release did not say on what crime Willyard had been convicted.

Authorities believed Willyard bought the gun nearby and executed a search warrant in the 1700 block of Beach Boulevard, the release said.

There, police said they seized 24 rifles, one handgun, 16 bags of methamphetamine, “a large amount of ammunition,” drug paraphernalia, and four chainsaws.

The guns and chainsaws were stolen in Harrison County, police said.

Willyard, Compton and Hardee are held in the Harrison County jail.
