Nashville Police launch homicide investigation after woman found shot at trailhead, dies
Nashville police launched a homicide investigation after a woman was found over the weekend with a gunshot wound to the head at a Hermitage trailhead.
Police were called to the Alta Lake Greenway trailhead off Dodson Chapel Road Sunday morning, the department said in a statement.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees working in the area found the woman, who appeared to be in her 20s, police said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where she died, police said.
Efforts to identify her and locate next of kin are ongoing.
