National Weather Service confirms multiple tornadoes from Monday severe weather caused by Beryl in Arkansas
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The National Weather Service has confirmed multiple tornadoes after Beryl generated severe weather Monday night into Tuesday.
Beryl tore a path through Arkansas Monday night and through Tuesday morning, causing multiple tornadoes to spin up.
National Weather Service confirms EF-0 tornado in White County
NWS officials said an EF-1 tornado began at 6:46 p.m. on Monday just southeast of Sparkman in Dallas County, tearing a 3.21-mile path northwest. Officials said it lasted for nine minutes and had a 75-yard width as well as an estimated peak windspeed of 90 miles per hour.
An additional EF-1 tornado near Sparkman was confirmed by NWS officials to have touched down southeast of Sparkman at 6:51 p.m., continuing north for 2.41 miles for five minutes with a width of 75 yards and estimated peak windspeed of 88 miles per hour.
Officials said an EF-1 touched down in southwest Jefferson County at 10:28 p.m. on Monday and continued north for six minutes, creating a 2.53-mile-long, 75-yard-wide path. It had an estimated peak windspeed of 88 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service confirmed that a second Jefferson County tornado, rated an EF-0, touched down at 10:49 p.m. on Monday north of the Pine Bluff Arsenal. Officials said it lasted 10 minutes, tore a 5.79-mile-long, 75-yard-wide path and had an estimated peak windspeed of 75 miles per hour.
Earlier Tuesday, NWS officials confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down in White County southeast of Mt. Vernon just before 6:20 a.m. It had an estimated peak windspeed of 65 miles per hour.
According to the NWS, a tornado classified as a 0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale has windspeeds ranging from 65 miles per hour to 85 miles per hour. An EF-1 has windspeeds from 86 miles per hour to 110 miles per hour.
