No bond for both men accused of fatally stabbing daughter, critically injuring mother
Two men arrested in connection with a stabbing that left one woman dead and another with critical injuries will remain in custody without bond until their trial, a judge ruled last week as Hurricane Helene approached Florida's west coast.
Shad Loveless, 45, and Zachary Williams, 21, both of Fort Myers, face charges of aggravated battery; second-degree murder; and armed home invasion.
Assistant State Attorney Sara Miller filed a motion for pretrial detention for each of the men Sept. 24, which Lee Circuit Judge Nicholas Thompson granted the following day.
Loveless was arrested during a traffic stop, while Williams was arrested near his home, authorities said.
The sheriff's office received a 911 call around noon Sept. 20 from a woman advising she had been attacked during a robbery.

Detectives and crime scene technicians canvassed the area and learned that two men were seen arriving in the neighborhood at the time of the attack and quickly leaving, the sheriff's office said.
Authorities said a search of the victim's cellphone also revealed that a narcotics transaction was to take place at the home.
The sheriff's office said the path to the arrests of Loveless and Williams involved hours of camera footage, license plate-reading technology and cellphone records.
Detectives said Loveless and Williams plotted to rob the women during the narcotics transaction, the sheriff's office said. They stabbed both women.
An arrest affidavit from the sheriff's office identified the surviving victim as Traci Perry, 56, and the deceased as Emily Perry, 27.
According to the sheriff's office, Traci Perry has five puncture wounds to her head and neck area. Emily Perry had puncture wounds to her neck and bleeding in the brain.
The sheriff's office said a search for cellphone records showed Loveless had communicated with Emily Perry leading to the stabbings and stopped communicating immediately after.
Loveless and Williams are next due in court Oct. 28 for their arraignments.
