A slew of New York Democrats who will help decide their party's next presidential candidate swiftly backed Kamala Harris on Sunday after President Joe Biden quit the race and endorsed his vice president.

Harris has gotten wide party support nationally to replace Biden and faces no rivals for the nomination at this stage.

By Monday night, all of the state's 16 House Democrats — all of them delegates at the party's nominating convention next month — had echoed Biden's endorsement on social media, saying Harris would bring new energy to the race to beat Trump and help down-ballot Democrats in congressional and state races.

Weighty role Biden drops out of presidential race. Do NY delegates have to vote for Biden or Harris?

"To meet this moment, we need a candidate who can continue to promote President Biden's tremendous accomplishments, energize voters across the political spectrum, & aggressively prosecute the case against Trump," Rep. Paul Tonko, who represents the Albany area, posted on X. "Vice President Kamala Harris is just the person for the job."

Here are the other New York delegates, out of a total 307, who threw their support behind Harris in the hours following Biden's announcement — and who didn't.
