NY recalls multiple cannabis products. Did you buy any?

Have you recently bought any cannabis-infused dessert toppings, dipping sauces, condiments or ice cream? You should check what you purchased. Multiple items have been recently recalled in New York.

The New York State's Office of Cannabis Management on Friday recalled all "Sky High"-branded cannabinoid hemp products produced by Eat Sky High LLC as a precautionary measure, since the manufacturer was an unlicensed cannabinoid hemp processor.

No adverse side effects caused by the consumption of the recalled products have been reported yet and the investigation into the products is ongoing.

Here's what to know about the recall.

Why the products have been recalled

The products are being recalled because they were produced by an unlicensed cannabinoid hemp processor and have multiple safety violations, New York's Cannabis Office said.

Violations include:

  • Processing by an unlicensed facility

  • Amount of THC-A present in the product

  • Unverified testing of product to OCM standards

  • Labeling violations, including but not limited to: missing warnings, processor information and lot numbers

  • Production with hazardous food products

  • Misleading labeling, making the product appear to be an authorized adult-use product with NYS Universal Symbol imagery

Dispensaries and distributors have been instructed to stop the distribution and sales of the affected products immediately.

What to do if you've purchased the recalled products

If you've bought any of the recalled products and want to return them, contact the retail dispensary you purchased them from, the state Office of Cannabis Management says. You can return the recalled products even if they've been opened.
