NYSP: Thousands of child sex abuse images exchanged through messaging app
A Steuben County man who authorities allege used mobile messaging technology to view and exchange some 6,000 photos and videos of child sexual abuse faces three felony counts after his arrest on Wednesday.
New York State Police said Nicholas A. Faulisi, 35, of Corning was charged with promoting a sexual performance of a child younger than 17, promoting obscene sexual performance of a child less than 17 and possession of sexual performance by a child.
Authorities said an investigation was spurred after Bath-based state police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children last October.
The tip, according to police, reported that materials involving sexual abuse had been uploaded to a mobile messaging app associated with the suspect.

State Police said the investigation spanned several months before troopers made an arrest.
Faulisi was taken to the Steuben County jail for CAP arraignment, officials said.
The date of his next court appearance was not immediately available.
