Ocean City Police announce death of beloved retired police service dog K-9 Koda

The Ocean City Police Department has announced the death of one its beloved retired police service dogs, K-9 Koda, a German Shepherd from Slovakia.

The department announced that Koda died on July 4, with his handler, Lt. Kelly, by his side.

Koda and Lt. Kelly began their partnership back in 2012. Koda retired from the Ocean City Police Department in 2018 after faithfully serving for seven years and having over 600 deployments. Upon retirement, he became the protector of Lt. Kelly's family.
