Off-duty Pennsylvania State Trooper charged after bar fight at popular Lancaster City bar

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A Pennsylvania State Trooper was charged with public drunkenness after being involved in a bar fight at a downtown bar in Lancaster City when he was off-duty, court documents show.

Robert Miller, 33, of Lancaster, was cited for getting involved in a bar fight between staff at Tellus 360 on June 23 when they tried kicking out someone he was with, according to the citation filed by Lancaster City Police. According to LNP, Miller was off-duty at the time of the incident.

According to court records, the fight broke out after Miller’s “companion” was told to leave and refused. When staff tried to kick them out, police say Miller grabbed the staff and pulled them off of the person he was with.

“These actions disrupted bar patrons, staff, and took multiple security personnel to stop. This did endanger and annoy bar staff and patrons,” the citation reads.

Miller also smelled like an alcoholic beverage, the court docs say. It did not state how long he had been drinking at the bar or his BAC.

Miller graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy as part of the 163rd class in 2022 and was assigned to Troop J in York.

A Pennsylvania State Police spokesperson responded with no comment after an inquiry from abc27 News was sent Wednesday evening.
