Okaloosa and Walton counties retain A ratings in new Florida school district ratings

Okaloosa and Walton counties retained their A ratings in the most recent school district ratings released by the Florida Department of Education.

The 2023-24 school district grades were released Wednesday under a new grading scale approved by the State Board of Education. With the new scale, elementary schools in Florida reverted to a grading scale from 2014 to 2022, and all other school types used the new scale.

"This approach takes into consideration the different components included in the school grade formula for different school types and ensures our school grades accurately reflect the performance of our schools," said the FDOE in a news release.
