Oklahoma City Police officer’s body found in Lake Stanley Draper

UPDATE @ 3:55 P.M.

In an ‘X’ post on Tuesday, OKCPD identified the off-duty officer found in Lake Stanley Draper as Officer Greyson Fox.

“It’s with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely passing of Officer Greyson Fox, he drowned July 1st while off-duty at Lake Stanley Draper,” the post reads. “Officer Fox started the academy on 8/8/23, & was assigned to Hefner Division. Condolences to family & friends during this difficult time.”

Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt posted a statement on social media after the news of Fox’s death.

“Greyson Fox’s greatest public legacy is his dedication to public service,” Holt said. “That legacy is rivaled by the joy he brought to many as a beloved son, brother & friend. He will be deeply missed by our city & we grieve with the Fox family. Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers.”

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The body of an Oklahoma City Police officer was found in Lake Stanley Draper Tuesday morning after an eight-hour search.

According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, officers responded to a call around 6 p.m. on Monday regarding someone falling off of a boat and not resurfacing.

Multiple agencies arrived on scene and after searching for hours, crews recovered the body around 2 a.m.

Officials say it is unclear what happened before the officer fell off of the boat.
